An application does not guarantee that the cadet will get a course. Decisions will be announced in April/May.
Power and Glider Candidates: Must have completed online ground school, written the exam on Feb 4th, submit complete report card for 2023-2024 school year, provide a copy of Aviation Medical as soon as received.

630-9pm at Alberta Aviation Museum.
Open to all cadets - new and returning.
Instruments and music are provided. Training is provided on playing the instrument as well.
Effective speaking training provided
Feb 22nd, 2025: Squadron Mess Dinner - Cadets Only
Held at the Edmonton Garrison Officers’ Mess
1030am - 2pm
Open to all cadets with the purchase of a ticket.
Tickets are $15 each and sales will begin on 7 January 2025. Cash is preferred method.
Dress will be C2 for Cadets

COMMANDING OFFICER’S UPDATE
Mid-Year Message to 395 Griffon Squadron Cadets, Staff, Parents and Families
As we move into the second half of the training year, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible progress and dedication of our cadets. Your hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to personal growth have been truly impressive, and I look forward to seeing you continue to develop your skills and leadership in the months ahead.
We have an exciting schedule ahead of us, filled with valuable training and unique experiences. Beyond our regular training nights, we have things from familiarization flying to our Mess Dinner, the Griffon Coin Parade, and the Spring Field Training Exercise, there will be many opportunities to challenge yourselves and build lasting memories. Cadets will also have the chance to participate in the Effective Speaking Competition, Band level testing, Karate, Drill, Orienteering, and our Annual Ceremonial Review, each of which highlights the diverse skills and teamwork that define our Squadron.
None of this would be possible without the ongoing dedication of our Parents Committee and the families of our cadets. Your support—whether behind the scenes, at events, or through encouragement at home—makes a tremendous difference in the success of our program. Thank you for all that you do.
I also want to acknowledge the hard work of our staff, who continue to deliver engaging and meaningful training. Their commitment to excellence ensures that our cadets receive the best possible experience, and I am grateful for their leadership and mentorship.
With so many fantastic opportunities ahead, I encourage each of you to make the most of the remainder of the training year. Stay engaged, challenge yourselves, and take pride in being part of 395 Griffon Squadron.

Report an Absence or Leaving the Program:
If you are no longer attending cadets email: 395air@cadets.gc.ca to let us know. This will start the process of removing you from our database. If you are absent, email (395air@cadets.gc.ca) or text (780-619-9756) the Squadron to let us know. You need to include Rank, First and Last Name and the Date you are absent for. Uniforms can be returned on a Tuesday evening during regular training hours.
